Abstract

"Mysteries of Cinema" (2018) is a book that compiles more than three decades of Adrian Martin's essaistic produticon.  In this review, I discuss the methdological and analyrical threads that cross many of the texts presented here, in its varieties and relatioships with the mystery of cinephilia.

Author Biography

Carlos Eduardo Natálio, Carlos Natálio, NOVA FCSH, ICNOVA – Instituto de Comunicação, 1069-061 Lisboa

Holds a PhD in Communication Sciences, speciality Contemporary Culture and New Technologies, from the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of NOVA University in Lisbon. He is a member of the selection committee of IndieLisboa International Film Festival. Founder, editor and film critic for the Portuguese website on film criticism and cinephilia, À pala de Walsh. He collaborates with the association Os Filhos de Lumière, in the writing of several pedagogical materials in the area of Education for Cinema. He has a degree in Law and another one in Cinema.
