Author Biography

Luís Mendonça (1986) has a degree in Social Communication from Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais e Políticas of Universidade Técnica de Lisboa. He received his MA in Communication Sciences (Cinema and Television) from the  Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas of Universidade Nova de Lisboa. He started his PhD in 2010 in the same University, funded by Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, under the supervision of Margarida Medeiros. He taught Photography and Film in open courses at FCSH-UNL. He organized several film retrospectives and debates. In 2010, he directed the short film Lugar/Vazio, presented at the Panorama film festival and premiered at Cinemateca Portuguesa-Museu do Cinema. He is one of the co-founders and editors of the cinema website À Pala de Walsh.
