My current research is focused in Brazilian film, particularly in the relation between Brazilian music traditions and their cinematic staging and translation. This work is based on an intermedial approach over different periods, from silent film to contemporary music biopics, to analyse certain intersections between both arts. Apart from this, and following my PhD thesis From Hunger to Vomit: Images of Consumption in Modern Cinema, I'm also interested in the relation between organic matter and politics in film, focusing in both European and Latin American cinema. I've done research on filmmakers such as Werner Herzog, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Marco Ferreri, Glauber Rocha, Joaquim Pedro de Andrade and Jorge Silva and Martha Rodríguez.
