Abstract

Thinking about staging as a problem that also concerns the actor, the article starts from some formulations of the acting studies, found in James Naremore texts, and the approach of the sociologist Erving Goffman to understand the role of representation in the filmography of Eduardo Coutinho. Supported by the work of the researcher Fernão Pessoa Ramos, the article intends to delimit the characteristics of “direct staging” and “constructed staging” in the documentary Moscou (2009) and the acting modes present in the film.
