Abstract

Focusing on works presented at the 20th edition of the Contemporary Art Festival Sesc VideoBrasil, in São Paulo, we suggest two approaches to the Global South in contemporary art: melancholic and libidinal.

Patrícia Mourão received a PhD in Film Studies from Universidade de São Paulo in 2016. She is currently a Post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Visual Arts in the same university.
