Meeting of Editors of Academic Journals in Social and Human Sciences, National Library, October 10th

The event, which took place in the Portuguese National Library, in Lisbon, gathered a couple of dozen participants who discussed important questions on the following topics: Foundation experiences and reorganization; Ethics in publishing; Management and workflow; Internationalization and indexing. As speakers, the following editors were present: Tiago Baptista (Aniki); Elisa Lopes da Silva (Práticas da História); Humberto Martins (Etnográfica); Maria Assunção Gato (CIDADES, Comunidades e Territórios); Sofia Sampaio (Aniki); Cyril Isnart (Lusotopie); Marta Castelo Branco (Análise Social); Mónica Rodrigues (Etnográfica); José Vicente Serrão (Ler História); Clara Carvalho (Cadernos de Estudos Africanos); Nuno de Almeida Alves (Portuguese Journal of Social Science); António Firmino da Costa (Sociologia, Problemas e Práticas).

In the end, it was unanimous that there’s a lot to discuss on this important academic field (and will to do so). We hope that similar initiatives can happen again in the future.
