Call for Papers: Aniki’s ‘Exhibitions and film festivals’ section
The ‘Exhibitions and film festivals’ section of Aniki: Portuguese Journal of the Moving Image invites authors to submit papers and proposals on a rolling basis.
The section publishes critical writing on exhibitions and film festivals addressing, or involving in any way, moving images. Contributors should be able to take a critical distance from the festivals and exhibitions they are reviewing in order to reflect upon the political, historical, museological or aesthetic issues that these events may raise in the fields of film and media studies, arts, visual anthropology and visual cultures. Reviews may reflect the research interests (or ongoing projects) of contributors such as researchers, curators, archivists, museologists, artists, among others.
Guidelines
- Contributors should not have a professional relationship with the festivals or exhibitions they are reviewing;
- They should focus on up to 3 film festivals or exhibitions;
- Exhibitions and film festivals should have taken place over the last three years;
- Short introductions should be included to contextualize the festivals or exhibitions under review;
- The review should be structured around one or more issues/ themes;
- Reviews should be written in Portuguese, Spanish or English and have between 800 and 2000 words.
Please consult the ‘Author Guidelines’ here, before submitting your text. Any queries or proposals should be sent to: aniki@aim.org.pt
