HOW TO GET THERE

By plane:

Sevenair operates flights to Vila Real or Bragança from Viseu, Cascais, and Portimão, with two daily connections. From Vila Real or Bragança you can rent a car or take a bus to Mirandela. More information: https://flysevenair.com/en/services/airline/

For international flights, the nearest airport is Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (Porto), from where you can take a bus to Mirandela (see below) or rent a car.

By Train:

Unfortunately, the Tua railway line is deactivated.

For those coming from Spain, it is possible to take the high-speed train between Madrid and Zamora, and from there continue to Mirandela by rental car or bus.

Bus

From Lisbon, Coimbra, and Porto, there are several connections with Rede-Expressos and Flixbus stopping in Mirandela. Flixbus even has a direct daily connection between Porto Airport and Mirandela.

From Madrid and Oviedo, there are bus connections with Flixbus and Alsa, sometimes requiring a transfer in Valladolid. The journey from Madrid takes around 4h30 to 5h30.

The Mirandela Bus Station is just a five-minute walk from ESACT.

By Car

Within Portugal, the best option is taking the A4 motorway, which runs directly from Porto to Mirandela. The trip takes about 1h30 to 2h.

It is also possible to come from the south, via Viseu, using the A24, and then connecting to the A4 near Vila Real, for a journey of around 1h30.

From Spain:

From Oviedo: 366 km in about 4 hours via A66 and then A4.

From Madrid: take the AP61, AP6, and E82 to the border, then continue on the A4 to Mirandela.

Getting Around Mirandela:

Mirandela is a small and mostly flat city, making it very easy to get around on foot or by bicycle. Taxis are available in the city, especially at the bus station near ESACT and at the taxi stand in Parque do Império.

There is also a local bus that runs through the city’s main streets. Stops and timetables can be found here: https://www.cm-mirandela.pt/pages/1613

The closest stop to ESACT is Rua da Força Aérea (Inatel).
