Resumen

The review tries to take into account the annual NECS Conference held at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan in June 2014. Providing an overview of the attendance and the activities organized by the UCSC crew in association with the colleagues of the University of Udine, the text focuses primarily on the three keynote lectures given in the frame of the initiative by Prof. Raymond Bellour, Prof. Jason Mittel and Prof. Janet Wasko.

Miriam S. De Rosa, received her Ph.D. at UCSC Milan in 2011 where she now collaborates on the research activities of the Department of Communication and Performing Arts. Her studies focus on cinema and visual arts with particular regard to the relationship among subject, space, and filmic device. She has written diverse essays on these topics and she also wrote the book Cinema e postmedia. I territori del filmico nel contemporaneo (Postmediabooks, 2013). In winter 2014 De Rosa was DAAD guest-scholar at Goethe University Frankfurt for the project Cinema and the Gallery: Encounters in the Post-media Age; she currently teaches audiovisual cultures at UCSC Milan and Cinema, photography, and TV at the University of Insubria , Como. She serves on the NECS Publication Committee, co-edits the NECSUS exhibition review section, and is general secretary of IMACS.
