Resumen

A critical review of the II International Conference about Pathologies and Dysfunctions of Democracy in the Media Context", hosted by the Universidade da Beira Interior. Many studies regarding dystopian fictions and politics are evoked, and different aspects of the conference are discussed.

Marta Lopera-Mármol, Pompeu Fabra University, Communication Faculty, CAS Research Group, 08018, Barcelona

Marta Lopera is a Doctoral and Teacher Fellow at the Communication Department of Pompeu Fabra University and a research member of the Research Group CAS (Communication, Advertising, and Society). She has taught: Communication & Events Management (B.A. Advertising and PPRR), Analysis of Persuasive Discourses (B.A. Advertising and PPRR) and Newsroom (B.A. Journalism).

She holds an M.A. in Social Communication from UPF and an undergraduate in Audiovisual Communication from University of Barcelona with two international stays at Hanzehogeschool of Applied Sciences (Groningen, The Netherlands) and La Trobe University (Melbourne, Australia).

Her research lines are television studies, sustainable film, TV series, coming-of-age, postmodern philosophy, dramedy, aesthetics, and narrative.
